Check Out July Fourth Festivities Around the Region

The following events are planned in observance of the Fourth of July holiday (all events will take place today unless otherwise noted):

- A patriotic outdoor worship service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1000 S. 14th St., Moorhead. In the event of rain, the service will be held in the church. Food and family fun activities are planned.

- Fireworks display at dusk at John Randall Baseball Field in Chahinkapa Park, Wahpeton, N.D. An American Legion baseball game between Wahpeton and Breckenridge, Minn., will be held preceding the fireworks.

- An Independence Day celebration will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site in Abercrombie, N.D. The day will include patriotic readings, children’s games and crafts, military drill activities, and more.

- Fireworks display will be held at the city beach in Detroit Lakes, Minn. For more information, call (800) 542-3992.

- Fort Ransom (N.D.) Fourth of July celebration will include a rodeo, parade, street dance and more. Call (701) 973-4471 for details.

- Sanborn, N.D., will host a parade at 10 a.m., truck pulls at 11 a.m. and fireworks at dusk.

A parade, picnic and other events are planned in McLeod, N.D.

- Baudette, Minn., will host several events throughout the day including a Firecracker 5k run, pancake breakfast, parade, bingo, pie and ice cream social, street dance and fireworks display. For a complete schedule of events, visit www.lakeofthewoodsmn.com.
