Names of 3 Killed in Sauk River Crash Released

Authorities are releasing the names of the three people who died July 4th when a vehicle went off a Stearns County road and landed upside-down in the Sauk River.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) — Authorities are releasing the names of the three people who died July 4th when a vehicle went off a Stearns County road and landed upside-down in the Sauk River.

KSAX-TV reports (http://bit.ly/iAIzVN ) they are the driver, 19-year-old Lam Vu Le, and two passengers, 5-year-old Ethan Thang Ngo and 13-year-old Carrie Ann Richter-Ngo, both of St. Cloud.

Le was pronounced dead at the scene. Ngo and Richter-Ngo were pronounced dead at a hospital.

The crash was discovered about 2:15 a.m. Monday when a Stearns County deputy noticed a road sign down near a bridge. The deputy pulled over, noticed the car's tracks and called for backup.

Officers found the sedan on its roof, partially submerged in the river. Two other adults in the car survived the crash.

The cause is under investigation.
