A Marine Corps statement says Corporal Ryan L. Pape died Thursday night from injuries sustained during a low-level static line jump.

The 23-year-old reconnaissance Marine from Minnesota enlisted in 2005. His personal service awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and the National Defense Service Medal.
