TOWNER, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Transportation officials have fully reopened U.S. Highway 2 near Towner.
The main east-west route across northern North Dakota was closed west of Towner in late June because of Souris River flooding. All but local traffic was detoured. The westbound lanes reopened last Thursday, and the eastbound lanes reopened Monday.
Officials say water remains on the roadway, and traffic speeds are reduced.
