A Grand Forks church is getting into the holiday spirit with a night full of activities.

The local church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints hosted the night of the nativity today.

Actors braved the cold to portray a live outdoor nativity scene...along with animals.

Inside the church, more than 100 smaller nativity scenes were on display.

Some came from as far away as Jerusalem.

"this is what Christmas is about, I hope they feel something here, I hope if they're not in the Christmas spirit already, I hope by the time they leave they are," event coordinator Robert Wood said.

The University of Minnesota Crookston choir sang carols at the church tonight.

The church also broadcasted a live performance by the Morman Tabernacle Choir.
