GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A truck driver would face a one-year sentence for causing a crash that killed two children in Grand Forks under a plea agreement filed Tuesday in state district court.

65-year-old Steven C. Nelson truck's and a van driven by Kevin Boyer Jr. collided at an intersection on Dec. 22, killing 8-year-old Kaylee-Jo Wyatt and 5-year-old Kevin Boyer III.

Nelson faces two felony counts of negligent homicide and one misdemeanor count of aggravated reckless driving.

If Judge Karen Braaten approves the plea agreement, Nelson would be required to serve 60 days of the one-year sentence and 100 hours of community service.
