Seventeen local kids had a chance to make their Christmas a little brighter.

Kids from low income families were able to shop with a police officer to add a few more presents under their Christmas trees. The kids were paired with an officer and were able to pick a gift for themselves and their families and get a meal at Culvers.

But the kids say the best part was making new friends.

Taylor Backer Grand Forks: "We didn't know each other when we first saw each other, then at the end right now we know each other pretty well."

The Fraternal Order of Police Santa Cop Have been helping families for the past 11 years.
