Bottineau Man Sentenced For Assaulting Officer

A U.S. District Court judge has sentenced a North Dakota man to two years of probation for resisting and assaulting a federal officer.

(AP) — A U.S. District Court judge has sentenced a North Dakota man to two years of probation for resisting and assaulting a federal officer.

Thirty-year-old Christopher A. Faulk, Jr., of Bottineau, N.D., will be confined to his home and wear an electric monitor for six months of the two years.

He pleaded guilty to the November 2010 incident. The officer had responded to a dispute involving Faulk on Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation. When the officer tried to place Faulk in a patrol car, Faulk resisted arrest and kicked the officer in the leg.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs - Turtle Mountain Agency investigated the case.
