BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified a 53-year-old pilot killed when a single-engine airplane lost power and crashed in a field near Williston.
The patrol says a plane piloted by Donn Skadeland of Williston went down Monday night about 20 miles east of Williston. Skadeland was transported to a Williston hospital where he died of his injuries.
A 55-year-old passenger, Gerald Gratz of Williston, also was taken to the hospital. His condition was not known.
Troopers say the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
