MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The financially ailing Postal Service has added 88 Minnesota locations to the list of those being considered for closing.

The agency said Tuesday it will study 3,653 local offices, branches and stations for possible closing. Many of those may be replaced by Village Post Offices in which postal services are offered in local stores, libraries or government offices.

In Minnesota, Postal Service spokesman Peter Nowacki tells the Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/ppxqhB ) the list includes 88 sites out of 882 total.
