A bad cable under the Red River is causing a headache for some Qwest customers.
Qwest is working on a permanent fix for the issue, but until then some customers may have troubles with their phone service.
The company says they are dealing with outages as they happen, but the most they've had is four people without service at one time.
Qwest says service is usually restored quickly, but one East Grand Forks couple says they were without telephone service for 11 days.
"I wish they would have been more forthright and really said how serious the problem was, you know. And they just always, we were always thinking that it would be fixed immediately or soon and that never happened," Qwest Customer Zona Pearson said.
Qwest is asking customers to contact them immediately if they are having issues.
The permanent cable fix should be finished by the end of the year.
