Mayville Fire Department Works to Turn Dump Truck into Rescue TruckFirefighters are trying to raise money to turn a dump truck into a rescue truck.
Firefighters are trying to raise money to turn a dump truck into a rescue truck.
After five years of raising nearly $70,000, Mayville Fire and Rescue still needs $40,000 to $50,000.
Firefighters have talked to local legislatures in hopes to get some help financially from the State but haven't received it.
Each year they have a street dance which usually raises around 25-hundred dollars for the cause.
Mayville Fire Cheif Lee Brenna says, "We're an all volunteer fire department, we've got 4 pumpers and we're trying to build a rescue truck. We haven't had a rescue truck, our last rescue truck was in 1954, so it's way outdated."
Firefighters hope to raise enough money to have the Rescue Truck in the next couple of years.
Brenna hopes to find help in any way he can.
