The mayor of Minnewaukan, ND, is facing a felony charge for allegedly writing a bad check to the Benson County auditor's office.
The mayor of Minnewaukan, ND, is facing a felony charge for allegedly writing a bad check to the Benson County auditor's office.
Trish McQuoid is charged with issuing a check or draft without sufficient funds or credit.
According to the criminal complaint, McQuoid issued a check for $2376 from the account of her grocery store in May.
The check bounced. McQuoid closed the store in July.
McQuoid paid a cash bond in the amount of the check on Tuesday.
McQuoid pleaded guilty to a similar charge in December 2009. In that case she was placed on 18 months probation and ordered to pay restitution and fees totaling more than $5,000.
