MN Group Protests Afghan War as Obama Gets Nobel

Anti-war activists are protesting in Minneapolis on Thursday as President Barack Obama picks up the Nobel Peace Prize in Norway.

Anti-war activists are protesting in Minneapolis on Thursday as President Barack Obama picks up the Nobel Peace Prize in Norway.

A group called Youth Against War and Racism says on Facebook that its demonstration will start at the University of Minnesota and end above the Interstate 35W bridge during the evening rush hour.

The group says it's hypocritical to give Obama the world's most prominent peace prize just days after he announced plans to send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan. Protesters want to bring U.S. soldiers home immediately.

Anti-war protests were also planned in Oslo, where Obama is attending the Nobel award ceremony and banquet.
