Julie MoravchikJulie Moravchik has 17 years experience in broadcast journalism. She's won 39 journalism awards, including 5 Emmys and an Edward R. Murrow. Plus she's been featured nationally for standing up for ethics in journalism, by the National Press Photographers Association. Julie started out her career at Wisconsin Public Radio, she then worked as a reporter for 10 years at WDIO-TV, the ABC affiliate in Duluth, MN. And she went on to work in large market television, as a Special Projects Producer for "Jason Davis On The Road," at KSTP-TV. She built two news operations from the ground up, at True North TV in Ashland, Wisconsin and FOX 21 News in Duluth, MN. Two years after launching the first new newscast in Duluth in 40 years, as News Director Julie helped her team win Emmys for Best Newscast and Overall Station Excellence. Julie is proud to join "Your Home Team" at WDAZ-TV as the News Director. "I was born and raised a dairy farm in the small town of Ino, Wisconsin, and Grand Forks is the perfect fit for me and my family," says Moravchik. Julie is proud of her farming roots. During her free time she likes to be in the outdoors with her children, 5-year old Joey and 1-year old Josie. "Journalism is my career, but motherhood is my passion," says Moravchik. "The people of the Greater Grand Forks area are kind and caring, it's a nice community for raising my family, which is most important to me." Moravchik joined WDAZ-TV as the News Director in May of 2013.
