Yoshida

Michael Yoshida

Michael grew up just south of Grand Forks. He enjoyed riding horses, dog sledding , orchestra, playing sports and all of the other great things that Grand Forks has to offer. Michael is a proud graduate of Kelly Elementary, Schroeder Middle and Red River High School.

Following his high school graduation Michael attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. While at Wesleyan he played on the Cardinals' football team for two seasons before deciding to focus on academics and all of the other great opportunities available to him. During his time at Wesleyan Michael volunteered in Alaska, Uganda and also worked for the Wesleyan Media Project; studying political campaigns and the influence of outside finances.

Michael also co-founded a sports broadcasting program called WesPregame. A program that he saw develop from the idea of two friends into a university funded department that is now revolutionizing the way sports are covered and broadcast in the New England Small Athletic Conference.

After completing his coursework in the fall of 2012, Michael worked in New York City for Major League Baseball. A job that he loved but decided to leave when he was presented with the opportunity to return home to Grand Forks and start his broadcast journalism career. Michael spent the 2013 summer working as the WDAZ News Summer Intern. He is proud to join "Your Home Team" as a full-time reporter and is looking forward to telling the stories and covering the news that matter most to the people of this community.

Feel free to contact Michael with any story ideas or for just a friendly conversation.
