Loren Richard Dusterhoft, 68, of Grand Forks, died May 28, 2012, at Detroit Lakes Hospital. He was born December 12, 1943, to Victor and Louise (Hartje) Dusterhoft, in Grafton, North Dakota.
He married Dorette Kerian in Minto, ND on June 21, 1968. He attended Molor Barber College in Fargo and was a barber for Leonard’s Barber Shop in Grand Forks for a number of years.
For over 35 years he owned and operated Dusterhoft Oil Company. He was active in the North Dakota Petroleum Marketers Association and a generous contributor to the Grand Forks community.
He enjoyed hunting trips, golf, his time at his Maple Lake Home, and his friends from all over.
Loren is survived by his loving partner of many years, Kathy Roles, Grand Forks; his son Scott Dusterhoft, Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Kara Dusterhoft, Columbus, OH; granddaughter, Avery, Albuquerque; brother, Don Dusterhoft, Buena Park, CA; sisters: Donna Siewert, St. Thomas, ND; Beverly Dances, Bellflower, CA; Eleanor (Eugene) Riopelle, Springfield, OR; Janet Dusterhoft, Minto, ND; Marlys Smith, Mountain, ND.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Verna Walls. In lieu of flowers, the family respectively asks that memorials be given to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Saturday, June 2, 2012 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks, North Dakota
Visitation: Friday June 1, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Dahl Funeral Home, East Grand Forks, MN. With a 6:30 PM prayer Service.
