The Lake Region Heritage Center is focusing on reviving lost history of early settlers this month. A photo collection of Native American life from Layton Huffman, a photographer living in Montana and North Dakota in the late 1800s, is on display throughout the month of April.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation says that after four years flood related road repairs should wrap up this summer in the Lake Region. Crews will finish up a few projects this year, protecting the city and its roads from anything that can happen on the lake.

The mother of a slain 21-month-old baby girl says she's furious her daughter's convicted killer is being released today, only five years after he was sentenced to prison. Prosecutors agreed to a plea deal with James Alberts Junior because they say it was the only way to make sure he spent some time behind bars.

Devils Lake drivers won't have to worry about having a bumpy ride in town much longer. The city's Public Ways department will start filling potholes around town Thursday. Workers say they had to wait for winter to let up before they could break out the equipment to fix the holes.
