East Grand Forks beat Rochester Lourdes 3-2 in the Minnesota Class A boys hockey tournament quarterfinals Wednesday in St. Paul. Kolton Aubol scored two first-period goals, while Tommy Hajicek added a goal and two assists. The Green Wave led 3-0 entering the third period, but Lourdes scored twice to pull within one. EGF advances to Friday's semifinals against defending state champion St. Thomas Academy.

The "Make the Average the Law" campaign might be bringing higher salaries to North Dakota teachers. It's kicking off today by the North Dakota Education Association. The goal is to raise the minimum starting salary for teachers to $32,000.
