Solid hiring helped lower unemployment rates in 40 U.S. states last month, the most since November. The Labor Department said Friday that unemployment rates increased in only three states: Louisiana, Tennessee and North Dakota. North Dakota reported the nation's lowest unemployment rate, at 3.3 percent.

The Bemidji Police department recovered the body of a man during a follow-up search for 31-year-old Matthew Pulis. In the aerial search today authorities spotted something in the water about 100 yards off shore in the northwest corner of Lake Irving.
