First Grader Protests In Front Of School
A first grader at West Elementary school in Grand Forks is not to happy with a recommendation made this week by a consultant to close the school.
He protested in front of his school today.

Crookston Could See New Housing Development
Tonight the Crookston School board sold land around the old Lincoln School to the Northwest Minnesota Housing Cooperative.
They already have plans in the works that could put up to 25 new homes on that now empty land.

Another Minnesota school is being forced to close. But this time its not a public school and it has nothing to do with the state cutbacks. St. Joseph's elementary school in Red Lake Falls is facing its own issues that will close its doors at the end of this school year.

UND has been directed to retire the Fighting Sioux nickname and logo effective immediately.

STANDING ROCK TRIBAL COUNCIL WILL NOT ALLOW VOTE
With an 8-6 vote the Standing Rock Tribal Council has decided not to allow a reservation wide vote to gauge tribal approval on the use of the Fighting Sioux Nickname and logo, despite a petition from some tribal members asking for one.

Humane Society Explains Why 26- Dogs May Be Put To Sleep
26 dogs at the Grand Forks Circle of Friends Humane Society are scheduled to be put down.
The dogs were at the shelter during a 10 day period with a dog that was infected with rabies.
Officials there say they did not have any physical contact with the dogs, what then is the logic behind the state's recommendation for the euthanizations.
