More than 650 million dollars in property tax relief will be passed on to North Dakota residents through a change in the K-12 funding formula. This new formula will give schools more money per student, but for schools in the Grand Forks district this may not be enough.
School lunches throughout the country may soon have some more permanent changes. The Sensible School Lunch Act sponsored by North Dakota Senator John Hoeven attempts to lessen restrictions on serving grains and proteins.
An amendment to the K-12 education funding bill in the state Senate adds enough money to pay for daily milk or juice breaks for schoolchildren from low-income families statewide, Sen. Tim Flakoll, R-Fargo, said Wednesday.
