Many small town saloons and bars serve as a place for the entire community to gather. But in one Minto bar, people come together every year to eat something you don't usually find on the menu, baloney.
About 140 people took part in a land search for a missing rural Minto man. It's been almost 2 months since 55-year-old Guy Miller was swept away by high water near Minto. His body has not yet been recovered. There have been many searches by law enforcement, but family and friends of Miller started their own effort today.
Minto residents are hoping to break a world record this weekend -- in the form of chili. The first ever Pot of Chili event starts Friday night and goes through Saturday night. They are hoping to cook one ton of chili, which would make it the largest pot of chili ever cooked.
Many home owners in Grafton have weeks or months of work ahead of them, repairing their flooded basements. Heavy rains with saturated grounds and overloaded city lift stations resulted in water pouring into dozens of homes.
The Grand Forks County Sheriff's Department used their newly purchased unmanned aircraft system for the first time today in the search for a missing Walsh County man. Volunteers have been searching for 55-year-old Gregory Guy Miller since Monday.
The effects of the New Town murders are reaching far beyond those city limits. Just one month ago the children were living and attending school in Minto. Now, former classmates, teachers and church members in the small town are trying to cope with the loss of the those children.
