Spirit Lake Opponents Hoping For New Nickname Vote Sioux Nickname opponents on the Spirit Lake reservation are circulating a petition with hopes of reversing a resolution that gives UND perpetual use of the Fighting Sioux Nickname and logo. Tomorrow they will make a presentation at the State Board of Higher Education Meeting.
