The North Dakota Department of Transportation says 18 drivers were rescued on I-29 from Fargo to Grand Forks overnight. Some were taken to Altru Hospital with frostbite and other cold-weather injuries. The DOT is urging drivers to stay off closed roadways so that they do not become stranded.
All of I-29 in North Dakota remains closed Saturday morning as well as I-94 from Bismarck all the way to Alexandria, MN due to blowing snow that is causing very low visibility. The interstates have been closed for the better part of two days.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) has CLOSED I-29 both northbound and southbound roadways from the South Dakota border to Grand Forks due to high winds causing near zero visibility.
