Minneapolis declared a snow emergency at 10:20 a.m. Saturday. That means drivers can't park on routes used by snow plows from 9 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday, or until streets have been plowed from curb to curb.
Sights and sounds of the world of white are back. Wednesday's light snow hid slippery spots as some drivers made their way to grocery stores for last-minute holiday food or to stock up before the storm.
The city impound lots of Minneapolis and St. Paul are staying busy as city crews plow out Saturday's snow storm.
Both cities have declared snow emergencies, which triggers parking restrictions so the plows can clear the streets. Violators can be towed.
