DEVILS LAKE, ND (WDAZ-TV) - The latest National Weather Service projections may give people in the Lake Region a reason to celebrate, but both Mother Nature and man-made machines could have a huge impact on lake levels this year.
The National Weather Service may be issuing a new type of weather warning in the next weeks. The NWS offices of North and South Dakota and Minnesota will experiment with issuing “extreme cold warnings.”
Areas near the North Dakota and South Dakota border into west-central Minnesota could see 5 to 7 inches of snow when an area of low pressure moves into the region Friday, the National Weather Service says.
