LEBANON, N.H. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie — who spurned repeated calls to run for president himself — endorsed Mitt Romney for the GOP presidential nomination Tuesday, sending a signal to the skeptical GOP establishment to fall in line behind the former Massachusetts governor.
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie firmly declared Tuesday that "now is not my time" to run for president, dashing the hopes of Republicans still searching for someone other than former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who has failed to win over skeptical conservatives, or Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who is falling in polls as quickly as he had risen.
A trio of Republican governors is coming to the aid of Minnesota gubernatorial nominee Tom Emmer in the campaign's final weekend.
