Just in time for the fourth of July weekend, new DUI laws are taking a tougher approach on drinking and driving. Both first time and repeat offenders will be facing stiffer penalties. Some of the changes include increased fines and mandatory jail sentences.
The North Dakota legislature has overhauled the state's DUI law. With a unanimous vote today, the Senate gave the final approval to a bill that significantly increases the penalties for driving drunk, cracking down hardest on repeat offenders.
