DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Midwest ranchers have never been enamored with environmental regulators, but they really began to complain after learning that federal inspectors were flying over their land to look for problems.
Republican Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring should focus on how to help North Dakota farmers comply with new federal rules on fuel storage tanks instead of complaining about them, Democratic rival Merle Boucher said Tuesday.
Gov. John Hoeven doesn't like the federal Environmental Protection Agency's finding that carbon dioxide is a threat to public health.
