The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) in partnership with the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) has CLOSED the eastbound and westbound roadways of Interstate 94 from Dickinson to Jamestown due to reduced visibility and a number of a traffic incidents on this roadway. This portion of the Interstate will remain closed until further notice.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) has issued a Travel Alert for the Jamestown, Valley City, and Grand Forks areas due to snow and freezing rain which is causing icy road conditions. Additional areas in the travel alert include: Napoleon, Linton, Steele, Ashley, Edgeley, Ellendale, Cooperstown, Finley, Grafton, Drayton, Cavalier and surrounding areas. All travelers are encouraged to reduce traffic speeds and check weather and road conditions before traveling.
After reaching a record elevation of 1450.72 feet last summer, the National Weather Service says it's likely to rise another 2 feet this year. This means more trouble for roads, farmers, and homeowners.
