BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A state lawmaker who unsuccessfully pushed Internet poker licensing in North Dakota said Wednesday he has no plans to revive the proposal after a new U.S. Justice Department legal opinion concluded the gambling would not violate federal law.
Many Minnesota residents want more gambling options, according to a new Star Tribune Minnesota Poll that found 72 percent of adults surveyed say they favor an end to American Indian tribes having a monopoly on casino-style gambling in the state.
North Dakota lottery officials say a Powerball ticket worth $200,000 in Wednesday's drawing was sold at a convenience store in Bismarck.
