About 5,660 Xcel Energy customers were without power for 12 hours by the time service was ultimately restored early this morning. All customers affected by a widespread outage Saturday were back online by 1:45 a.m., according to a statement from Xcel.
About 10,000 Xcel Energy customers have power again after a widespread outage early this afternoon gripped parts of Fargo and West Fargo.

According to Xcel Energy, crews were able to restore power to the affected customers in Grand Forks at around 9:30 pm.
Winds up to 50 miles an hour caused outages to around 600 people in Grand Forks earlier Wednesday.
The most recent estimates Wednesday were that about 3,350 households remained without power in North Dakota, and South Dakotans still in the dark had dropped to about 3,200.
