Ending the regular season with 10 wins and three losses--all at home--the University of North Dakota baseball team enters the Great West Conference Tournament with plenty of momentum. UND will be the fifth seed in the tournament and will face fourth-seed and three-time defending GWC champion, Utah Valley. First pitch is set for 8 a.m. CT Thursday.
The North Dakota High School Activities Association will enter into negotiations with Forum Communications for the rights to televise North Dakota high school athletics. Forum Communications is the parent company of WDAZ-TV.
East Grand Forks beat Rochester Lourdes 3-2 in the Minnesota Class A boys hockey tournament quarterfinals Wednesday in St. Paul. Kolton Aubol scored two first-period goals, while Tommy Hajicek added a goal and two assists. The Green Wave led 3-0 entering the third period, but Lourdes scored twice to pull within one. EGF advances to Friday's semifinals against defending state champion St. Thomas Academy.
