Gov. calls for 'unprecedented support'
Governor Jack Dalrymple on Wednesday called on the U.S. Department of Agriculture to modify its Wetlands Reserve Program to better serve landowners who continue to lose ground and earnings to the rising Devils Lake.
The federal government says it will allow farmers to plant genetically modified sugar beets while it finishes work on a full environmental impact statement on the beets' effect on other crops and the environment.
