Seven Day Forecast

Good Morning! Today's going to be a rainy and windy day, so make sure to grab that umbrella. Rain will be likely during the morning, then become more scattered for the afternoon. High near 50*, with a southeast wind at 20-35 mph. The rain shower will end during the night, and the wind will diminish. Low near 41*, with a south/southeast wind at 10-20 mph.

Scattered showers will be possible on Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will be close to 60 on Thursday, but will fall into the 50s for Friday and Saturday. The only dry day looks to be Saturday, as more rain showers will move in late Sunday, and will continue into Monday. Temperatures will be even cooler, with highs in the 40s.

Have a great day!

Differences Between the new and old systems

  • Wind speed is now calculated for 5 feet off the ground. Wind speed was previously based on observations at 33 feet.
  • The calm wind threshold was lowered to 3mph.
  • A consistent standard for skin tissue resistance is now in use.
  • Measurements are based on how wind affects the human face, typically the most exposed portion of the body.
  • The table incorporates the theory that heat is lost from the body depending on its surroundings
  • The sun's impact is not factored into the wind chill temperature formula.
