Animal Watch: Doctors help deliver gorilla
In this week's Animal Watch, proof that sometimes we need a little help from our friends.
Kira is a 17-year-old western lowland gorilla who lives at the Philadelphia Zoo.
She went into labor, but after 24 hours her baby still hadn't arrived. So Zoo veterinarians called human doctors for help.
They performed an assisted delivery with forceps, a rare occurrence when delivering a gorilla baby.
In the end, all is well and the baby is doing just fine.
