Construction crews built a temporary levee overnight at Lake Renwick on the Tongue River to keep the river from spilling over Renwick Dam’s emergency spillway and flooding the community of Cavalier, N.D.

The rain keeps falling as residents of Crystal, North Dakota battle the worst flood they've seen since 2004. The situation in Crystal has become so dire that Mayor Larry McCullum ordered a voluntary evacuation for those who live on the west side of the town.
