Skate on UND's home ice and meet the Lamoureux twins at Community Skate 2017
GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)--If you want to skate like the UND hockey team, and meet some of their most famous alumni, Friday night is your chance.
For the eleventh consecutive year, the Ralph Engelstad Arena will host its "Community Skate" event to show appreciation to their fans.
This year, there are some special guests. Former UND women's hockey players, Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux will be there.
You can wish the Lamoureux twins good luck before they head to South Korea for their 3rd Olympic games.
"Monique and Jocelyne are actually trying to become the first North Dakotans to ever win a gold medal. So it's kind of neat to have them, you know, grew up right in town, and obviously played, hockey here, so we're hoping the community comes out and we can give them a nice send-off," said event coordinator, Garth Wiedrich.
Everyone is invited to come skate on the same ice the Fighting Hawks use from 6:30 to 8 PM on Friday evening.
