Altru adds flu hotline
GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)--After a spike in flu cases comes into the hospital -- a local health care provider is taking steps to protect patients and staff.
Altru has set up a free 24 hour hotline for anyone with questions about their symptoms.
12 people have died and 155 have been hospitalized this season in North Dakota.
The CDC says this season has been one of the worst.
If you have a muscle aches -- a headache and high fever -- you could have the deadly virus.
But nurses say more patients are unsure about whether their symptoms are a cold or something more serious.
“We have seen an increase 10 to 15 percent just here in Grand Forks at Altru, as well as nationally,” said Nurse, Corey Jensen.
The line is monitored by a registered nurse.
