Grand Forks Choice Health and Fitness leader to retire

The first superintendent for Choice Health and Fitness in Grand Forks announced his retirement Thursday.

Cam Tweten, 58, will officially retire Sept. 12, according to a news release. He has worked in the fitness industry in Grand Forks for 37 years, and has been the superintendent for Choice Health since it opened in 2012.

Earlier he headed up Choice’s predecessor, Center Court Fitness Club.

“Cam has been a key leader and a visionary for us at the Grand Forks Park District,” said Bill Palmiscno, director of the Park District, which manages Choice Health.

Palmiscno said Tweten was “crucial” during the campaign to build Choice.

Michael Orr, sports manager at Choice, has been named acting general manager of the facility.
