1 Million Cups plans Grand Forks visit, aims to connect entrepreneurs

A national program aimed at connecting local entrepreneurs is coming to Grand Forks next month.

The program, "1 Million Cups," will launch 9 a.m. on Sept. 10 at the Third Street Gallery, 310 Kittson Ave. The weekly program will feature representatives of two start-up companies who will present their business to mentors, advisers and other entrepreneurs, according to a press release. A 20-minute question-and-answer session will follow.

Matt Winjum, co-owner of Rhombus Guys, and Ashley Rae, founder of Brand Logic- Her Voice, Her Brand, will be the first presenters.

“Grand Forks is a great home for any small business, and 1 Million Cups showcases the entrepreneurial spirit that continues to grow in our community,” said Corey Mock, executive director of the Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals in a press release. “This is a perfect opportunity for our community to hear ideas, create constructive dialogue, and empower entrepreneurs to be successful.”

Grand Forks will be the 54th location for 1 Million Cups, which began in 2012 at the Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, Mo.
