Hundreds turn out to help Moorhead woman fight cancer

Roni Delaney, 24 (right) was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer in June, while supporting her mother's remission from Lymphoma.

For a young Moorhead woman, a difficult year is rounding out with an outpouring of support from family and friends.

While supporting her mother's remission from Lymphoma, 24-year-old Roni Delaney was herself diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.

She's endured six rounds of chemotherapy and a major surgery this fall.

Today more than 300 gathered to show support for the MSUM grad.

Many donated and bid on hundreds of auction items -- including some of Roni's original artwork.

Roni says she's overwhelmed by the support.

Roni Delaney: "I don't even know what to say... it's crazy -- it's awesome seeing everyone here."

If you missed today's benefit and would like to help defray Roni's medical expenses, there are many other ways to help:

-Cash/Check contributions payable to "The Roni Delaney Benefit Fund" may be dropped off at any Gate City Bank location

-You can donate online by visiting this site: http://www.dakmed.org/lendahand/ and clicking on "RONI DELANEY Benefit Fund"

Those accounts should be open for several more months.
