Multiple inmates report illness at the Cass County Jail
Cass County, ND (WDAY TV) – Several inmates are complaining of mild illness with symptoms such as upset stomach and diarrhea according to a release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office today.
In the release it says overnight staff at the Cass County Jail began receiving complaints of mild illness, by about 6 this morning a total of 110 inmates had reported similar symptoms. The total headcount has now increased to 282 at this time.
The sheriff’s office is currently investigating the circumstances of this illness outbreak with the assistance of Fargo Cass Public Health. The North Dakota Department of Corrections is also aware of the outbreak. In the release it says that all the inmates that reported symptoms are being treated within the facility and none are reporting worsening of symptoms or further deterioration of health.
