Man found dead in a Grand Forks jail cell prompts investigation
GRAND FORKS—An investigation is underway after a man in custody at the Grand Forks County Jail died.
Last Friday, 45-year-old Nathan Dogskin was found unresponsive in his cell.
He was taken by ambulance to Altru Hospital and died the next day.
The matter has been turned over to the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, which is common procedure when someone dies in custody.
Dogskin had been in custody at the jail since November.
He was awaiting transportation to the state prison due to a probation violation.
