NEW DETAILS FOLLOWING OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING
Disturbing details are coming to light about the moments that lead up to a Minnesota state trooper shooting a woman on I-94 near Moorhead, including the woman putting a gun to the officer's head.
The woman's passenger was in Clay County court yesterday in a bizarre hearing. Domonique Crayton, 29, faces several charges, including: damage to property, receiving stolen property, and giving a peace officer a false name. All of those are felonies. During the hearing he insisted his name was Donald Moor El and said that Crayton was dead. He argued with the judge and told him he was a member of a sovereign nation and was kidnapped by an officer. Crayton is also wanted on charges of kidnapping, human trafficking, and sexual assault out of Wisconsin. The woman who was shot in the arm, 30-year-old Melody Victoria Gray, remains in the hospital.
MAN ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY FLEEING FROM AND ASSAULTING OFFICERS
Another man in Grand Forks is in jail this morning following a chase and faces several years behind bars, accused of assaulting an officer.
Police said they received a call just before 9:00 yesterday morning regarding a man making noises in the bathroom at the Loaf N' Jug on Gateway Drive. Once authorities got 20-year-old Hunter Belgarde out of the bathroom, they asked him to leave the property. He agreed, but didn't comply with another request. That's when police tried to arrest Belgarde, but they said he ran. Once he was taken into custody, police said he allegedly punched an officer. Belgarde is facing a felony assault charge along with five years behind bars and thousands of dollars in fines.
