Bismarck, ND-- An Arkansas man who's been wanted on sex trafficking charges for about a year is now behind bars after police found him in Bismarck.

26-year-old Cory Oxford is facing charges of "rape" and "transportation of minors for prohibited sexual conduct."

Authorites in Franklin County, Arkansas put out a warrant for his arrest back in July of 2016.

About two weeks ago, U.S. Marshals got a tip pointing them to Bismarck.

They found Oxford in an apartment, where he'd been living with a woman for several months. Marshals say this woman did not know about or have any connection to Oxford's past crimes. For this reason, her name is not being released.

They say Oxford was taken without incident. He's in the Burleigh County Jail.
The High Plains Fugitive Task Force is to thank for his arrest. Two Fargo cops and some Cass County deputies were a part of it. U.S. Border Patrol and Metro Area Narcotics also helped.

The U.S. Marshals service says it wants to remind criminals that North Dakota is not a good place to hide.

It's a small community with well-connected law enforcement agencies.
