Nearly a dozen home break-ins

GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)—Police are warning locals about brazen robbers that may be back to break-ins.

Nine homes just outside the downtown area have been broken into over the month of November.

The break-ins occurred during the evening, and in each case, the doors were locked—crooks kicked them in.

In two of the cases, the homeowner was home.

The burglars took cash, electronics, and tools.

Police say this is very similar to a burglary spree in September.

Suspects were charged with those break-ins, but police say they are not currently in jail.

"Going into somebody's house and stealing their property is one thing, you can always get property back, but kicking in a door and there ends up being somebody of these times they're going to kick in the wrong door and somebody's going to get injured, so that's obviously very concerning,” said Lt. Brett Johnson of the Grand Forks Police Department.

Police are asking people in this neighborhood to be extra vigilant and check their doors for damage.
