GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ-TV) -- A warning from police tonight -- after a man allegedly steals several guns from a farmstead.
The Pembina County Sheriff says deputies were called to a farm near Drayton yesterday for a report of stolen guns.
During their investigation -- deputies found thirty-year-old Heath Johnson nearby with a few allegedly stolen handguns, a handful of rifles, meth and marijuana.
Authorities have not yet filed charges against Johnson but he is in custody tonight.
The sheriff is warning people with farmhouses to keep an eye out for thieves.
"Always helps to keep a light on and have your neighbors watch your place for vehicles going in and out. And a lot of farms that are vacant, those are places to watch," Terry Medinger, Pembina County Sheriff.
