GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)—The public got its first say on what they are looking for in a new school leader.

On Tuesday night, community members, including educators, met to give feedback.

Current superintendent Larry Nybladh is retiring in June after 10 years at the helm.

More than a dozen people weighed in.

“This is a big opportunity here. We get to have a new superintendent and a changeover of administration like that is a pretty big deal in a district this size, and it’s really exciting to get to know the process and be a part of it in some small way,” said Red River High School teacher, Tom Young.
